WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR TREES?
I have recieved alot of calls on trees and why they are falling over.
Over the years the south has been under drought conditions and our tree are suffering from it. Without water our trees are stressed and then when we get massive down pours most of the water that is dumped is mostly run off water. Tree roots are one of the first things to start dying out when there is a lack of water. When the roots start dying the trees achorage to the ground is affected and we have all seen what happens when heavy winds come during a storm. If you will notice, when a tree falls over there is hardly any root ball and that is because of the lack of water, minerals and nutrients a tree needs to survive. Trees will recover as long as there is major root loss and as long as we keep getting rains to help the tree regain its root mass.
